The Death of Yousef Shawamrah

Welcome to Pallywood

On March 19 Yousef Shawamrah was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers after vandalizing the security barrier. His two companions were arrested.

In this latest variation of Pallywood, the photos circulating on social media  and Palestinian agitprop sites show Yousef as a young boy.  This is no accident. Its a  deliberate and shamelessly manipulative attempt to illicit sympathy.  Reports from a variety of sources describe Yousef as being anywhere from 14 to 19.

Here is a  more current photo of Yousef Shawamrah

Interestingly enough, Arutz Sheva identifies Yousef as 19 years old, not 14 or 15 as  reported in the Palywood media.

IDF soldiers shot and killed a local Arab resident near Hevron on Wednesday, as he attempted to breach Israel's security fence with two accomplices.
Earlier today three suspects sabotaged the security fence in Deir al-Asal al-Tahta, southwest of Hevron," an IDF spokeswoman told AFP. After the three ignored soldiers' warnings to leave, as well as warning shots in the air, soldiers "fired towards the lower extremities of the main instigator.

The man was evacuated to the Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva in critical condition, but died of his wounds shortly thereafter.

The 19-year-old was identified as Yousef Nayif Yousef Shawamrah Abu Akar, from the village of Deir al-Asal al-Fouqa, located south of Hevron in the Judea region, reports Ma'an News Agency.
Al- Qassam also confirms that Yousef was 19

Israeli  occupation forces shot dead  a Palestinian youth near the Apartheid Wall in al-Ramadin neighborhood to the south of the West Bank city of  Al Khalil.

Local sources reported that Yousuf Nayif Yousef Shawamrah Abu Akar,19,  from Deir al-Asal village in Dura town was on his way to the pre-1948 Palestine when the Israeli troops  shot him dead, the IOF seized his body.

He added that the Israeli forces have yet to deliver his body.

A state of tension prevailed in the area after the death of the youth, according to witnesses.
Israeli sources claimed that Abu Akar was shot after he tried to pass through the Apartheid Wall
Several weeks after his death, its still unclear what exactly transpired. Whats crystal clear however is how the opponents of peace are manipulating information in an effort to paint Israel in the worst possible light. Truth always takes a back seat in Pallywood.
